BIBLICAL - We believe that America has a Christian foundation. Despite debate whether America was a Christian country, it is indisputable that the Bible had great influence in the lives and beliefs of the Colonists, the Founding Fathers, the American families, education, and society. Biblical values are planted throughout the founding documents and writings as well as the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
The Founders repeatedly recognized that the Constitution was made "only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other" (John Adams). As George Washington said, "The best means of forming a manly, virtuous, and happy people will be found in the right education of youth." We believe that the Bible is the foundation of all solid and vital education therefore, we want to be grounded with a solid foundational worldview.
HISTORICAL - We want to look at history with fidelity and honesty, recognizing the good, the bad, the ugly in order to learn and understand our historic roots. However, we reject the narrative that says that America was founded on slavery and racism. We believe it is important to pass on not only our biblical heritage but also America’s founding to our children to create a sense of statesmanship and civic duty. We believe we need to learn from past mistakes, recognize God’s providential favor, honor the stories of those who sacrificed their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to gain and preserve the blessings of liberty in this country.
CONSTITUTIONAL - “Every member of the State ought to diligently to read and to study the Constitution and teach the rising generation to be free. By knowing their rights, they will sooner perceive when they are violated, and be the better prepared to defend and assert them.” - John Jay
We believe that the Constitution is the highest law of the land. God requires us to be submissive to the governing authorities and in a constitutional republic, all magistrates and leaders swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. When this is violated, we, the People are required to hold our elected officials accountable. Furthermore, we are subject to obey God first, therefore, we have the duty to resist tyranny in order to obey God.
